At the time of writing, the internet at large is still arguing about whether Harry Styles spit on Chris Pine at the premiere of the pair’s beleaguered new thriller, Don’t Worry Darling. It’s only the latest juicy (but in this instance probably not that delicious) slice of drama from the film’s production and subsequent review-panning debut, which has included the kind of intriguing nonsense that expensive PR bods spend considerable time micromanaging on big budget projects so it never sees the light of day, but because Don’t Worry Darling has a much, much lower budget than, say, last year’s Eternals, which also (briefly) starred Styles, the wheels have basically completely come off now, with a new tidbit emerging from the cast and crew on average every few hours....

For those who don’t know, the inciting incident that triggers the effective end of the world in The Last of Us game is the rapid spread of a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus. Because the fungus directly attacks the brain within just a couple of days of infecting a host, it effectively turns them into a rage-filled monster. The longer the host is infected, the more of a monster they become both physically and mentally....

Maybe it’s because the Zelda timeline can sometimes be a confusing mess, but the stories in Zelda games are rarely talked about and appreciated the way that we talk about and appreciate the best narratives in other fantasy adventures. Yet, if you take the time to play through this series and really focus on their narratives, you’ll find that the best Zelda titles often offer thrilling tales that challenge you with their complex continuity while wrapping you up in a grand adventure that feels strangely comforting no matter which wild directions this series goes in....

The Magicians Season 3 Episode 6 Okay, so this wasn’t the best follow-up to last week’s The Magicians, but with new conflicts arising in “Do You Like Teeth?” the excitement level is still high. This week’s episode mainly suffers from a choppy narrative rather than from a lack of compelling elements, so it’s a bit of a trade-off that still leaves viewers mostly satisfied. Much ado was made of Felicia Day’s appearance on the show, and the layers of secrets that Poppy no doubt is keeping certainly made her character a highlight this week....

One of the more unexpected and intriguing of these easter eggs is the return of the astromech droid R5-D4. We’ve seen R5 in The Mandalorian before as one of Peli Motto’s (Amy Sedaris) many droid companions, but the trailer hints at a bigger adventure in this droid’s future as he joins Din and Grogu in the N-1. See for yourself: In case you need a refresher, R5-D4 first appeared in A New Hope as one of the many droids for sale by the Jawas....

It’s one of many deja vu moments teased in the sequel’s new trailer, which is full of easter eggs and callbacks to the trilogy that saw Neo freed from the Matrix and later save the rest of humanity from vicious, reality-altering machines. Every character in this movie — whether it’s Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), Jessica Henwick’s acrobatic Bugs, or Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s younger Morpheus — seems to rhyme with a character or event from the past....

Netflix has not yet confirmed the existence of The Umbrella Academy season 3 but according to a new report from Production Weekly, filming on a new season is set to begin on February 1, 2021 before wrapping up in August. That puts the third season on track for a potential mid-2022 release. In lieu of an official Netflix announcement, a Production Weekly post is the next best thing as the subscription-based trade exhaustively tracks all upcoming productions....

The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 5 Holy moley, what a gigantic waste of time to open the episode with Gregory’s meeting with Negan and the Saviors before the attack on the Sanctuary. I just don’t get why any of this is necessary. We know Gregory is a coward, we know he turns on a dime depending on what will secure his continued survival, and we know he’s a terrible liar....

Part zombie, part vampire, jiangshi are corpses that are usually reanimated by demons or Daoist sorcerers. They hop along mindlessly with their arms outstretched like sleepwalkers, and feed on the life essence – or qi – of the living. Often a jiangshi is blind but can smell breath. This makes for great comic hijinks as hapless characters struggle to hold their breath while gruesome jiangshi shove their rotting noses close to their mouths trying to pick up the scent....

That situation definitely changed this week! Principle photography may have wrapped on Thor: Love and Thunder back in June, but it’s been reported that some additional photography and reshoots are now underway stateside – and they’ve delivered a set of images that finally reveal Bale’s villain in all his glory. Well, most of his glory. No doubt there will be some visual effects added later to make him even more terrifying, but these pics do give us a really good idea of what Bale will look like as Gorr, and Marvel fans are currently having a fun time online by comparing him to various statues and ornaments (you’ll see what we mean when you clock the photos)....

No, not young Superman. Instead, we’re talking about Conner Kent, a clone made from DNA from Superman and…another donor, whose identity is a massive spoiler if you don’t already know. This Superboy first appeared in the classic Reign of the Supermen story, as one of the four “replacements” who appeared in the wake of Superman’s death. The character has been mostly absent from DC Comics over the last few years, although he has recently made his way back into continuity, and is a regular in the new Young Justice comic book series....

While it’s clear that Jake and Katagiri will continue to build their case against Tozawa, thanks to a flash-forward in the opening scene of the first episode that shows the duo meeting with his men about a “story” that the Yakuza leader wants buried, we don’t know the fate of several other characters put in danger in the season 1 finale. For example, now that Samantha (Rachel Keller) is in business with Chihara-Kai, how long before the gang takes control of her new club?...
